The Megilligan Kids

Here the three are all together just having a ball! I'm gonna need to pick out photos for Brian's office, the house, Christmas gifts for both families, I'd like to wall paper a few rooms with these......OH MY! I may have to put this on a 'monthly budget' and spread out the joy. If anyone has a favorite of them all together or the separate photos--- please help me decide! Just list your favorites as either 1,2,3, or 4. I'd love to have some help! :)

The Many Looks of Austin

Austin did such a great job posing for Heather. He was always concerned that he smiled just right for her. Sometimes all three would try 'too' hard and get that "fake smile" look. I didn't know how to get them to be natural (peek a boo doesn't work any more at this age :) but Heather knew how to 'work her magic'.

The Faces of Reece

Reece is always quite happy to crack a smile for the camera. He is quite the ham. The only thing hard for him is to not be too goofy when you just want a nice smile. Heather had such an amazing way of getting that genuine, dimpled smile of his to come shining forth.

The many faces of Lindsey

First off I MUST give credit where credit is due. My dear friend Heather took her Sunday afternoon and photographed our children. She took well over 400 photos of them. It was absolutely amazing to watch Heather at work. God has truly gifted her and I am so thankful she was willing to bless our family with these awesome pictures. Check out her blog as she has some of those pictures up as well. Plus you'll get to see her #1 job -- her three beautiful children.

Now on to Lindsey. Lindsey was SO excited to be photographed. She was counting down the days til our photo shoot. When we pulled up and she saw Heather she ran and gave her a big hug. Lindsey could have posed all day. Heather narrowed the photos down to about 100 but it is still tough to decide which are my favorites, but these are definitely a few of them.

Baseball in the backyard

Today was a gorgeous 72 degrees and sunny and the kids were begging us to play a game of baseball. They had the bases, bats, and balls all ready to go when Brian and I came outside. I wish this first picture could have captured the gorgeous trees better. Reece is the little outfield player, Brian was the pitcher, Austin was up to bat and Lindsey was playing first base way over in this picture.

It was hard to keep Reece focused on the ball because he was so excited that it was "raining" leaves.

Crazy Hair Night

This past Wed. night the kids had "Crazy Hair Night" at Awanas. Reece and Austin's hair was getting quite long, but I kept it long until 'crazy hair night' was over so I could spike up their hair. The boys have decided that hairspray is NOT a good thing at all and they are glad to be boys. By the time we got home and I got out the camera, Lindsey had taken out 20+ pony tails for her 'crazy hair'.

This kid sure comes up with some funny things lately. Today we were walking down past some shops and he spotted a nail salon. Austin said: "I CANNOT believe that people would actually go and pay someone money to cut their nails! That is the funniest thing I have ever heard." I should have told him how much people pay to have others cut their nails. :) Austin saves every penny he gets and I'm sure the $ spent on nails would REALLY shock him.

The day after....

First thing out of Austin's mouth, this morning, was: "Who won the election?" Then other questions came from that. One of them was: "Will McCain try and run, for President, again?" I told Austin that He probably will enjoy retirement in a few years as his family has quite a bit of money and McCain will be just fine. Austin's response was: "Not with Obama as president. His family will lose all their money!" Too funny coming from a 10 year old. Some days I sure don't feel like I'm talking to a kid anymore.

We Voted

The kids were very excited to go along with Brian and I and vote. Austin is taking Government and Election course work, so he had some great questions for us. Lindsey wanted to understand 'how' voting worked. And when I used the example of "let's vote: Chick Fil A or McDonalds" Reece joined the discussion because he has strong opinions about what restaurant he likes. (and it's not 'old Mcdonald' as he calls it.)

Austin was quite nervous to wear an "I voted" sticker because he really didn't vote even though he stood over our shouders and watched us vote while adding his comments and questions.

Wouldn't you just love to leave our country's fate in these precious little dudes? They really wanted to vote too. Especially if it was about where dinner would be.

I didn't want to get in trouble but I snapped a far away picture of the kids with their Daddy voting behind them. Brian said later: "News report: A North Carolina woman was arrested after taking pictures inside the voting building." I really was trying to be discreet and all the workers were smiling at me at least. ( I know....thinking I was a little crazy. :)

Sunday Afternoon

Granted, we were supposed to get one extra hour of sleep last night, but Austin and Lindsey had to sing in all three church services this morning. They went into church as early as Daddy does. Reece couldn't go back to sleep and it bothered him, to no end, that the clocks weren't all the same. So Reece and I were up early. Everyone was recovering from a sugar coma and yet the kids were dying to play Austin's new electronic Monopoly game after church.

If anyone has played Monopoly, you know how LONG the games go on. Basically forever. These kids have a good Daddy, because - as tired as he was on this Sunday afternoon - he sat down to play Monopoly. It is still set up to play throughout the week because we all like to barter, negotiate properties, and we are all very competitive to get several houses on our land as well. So....for this family....Monopoly DOES seem to never end.

SUGAR COMA

Party for the sweetest 3 year old.

Our sweet little friend, Kinsey, had her 3 year old birthday party the day after Halloween and what a perfect time for a 'dress-up' party. The weather was gorgeous and Heather (the mom) did a fabulous job having various stations of arts and crafts, and play tables. Austin went to help and he also got to make his own cupcake.


What an awesome idea to pound golf tees into pumpkins. The kids LOVED this.

Here Austin is helping the birthday girl, Kinsey, make her own beaded bracelet. He also helped at the pumpkin station and handed out treat bags. My boy is growing up!
